The secret Alto Genal valley in the Serrania
de Ronda is a paradise for walking holidays. Seven
tiny villages are scattered like pearls around the valley. There are rough limestone
crags offering exciting mountain walking, and sweet chestnut
groves with a myriad of trails. Most walks involve a descent and ascent and
vary from one to five hours, easy to moderate in difficulty.

Walker´s Journey to Cartajima
Every season in the Alto Genal offers different wonders: Spring brings a wondrous display of wild flowers and migrating birds; early summer, the chestnuts flower and a musky scent fills the air; in Autumn the chestnuts trees go through a spectacular palette of red and gold.
We have a series of detailed walking routes which visit the Alto Genal villages.
