Cartajima’s feria has, in recent years, become the talk of the Alto Genal valley and beyond. A genuine simple Andalucian pueblo blanco event – superbly organised with fun events for all. Join us! The sun is out, the natives are super friendly, the music is hot, and you will never go to a better party! But can you stand the pace – this is not for amateurs! There are many events every day for ten days!
A selection of the scheduled events is:
Free lunch. Yes, there is such a thing. On each of the three days of feria, 15th, 16th and 17th August, the town hall (aka Ayuntamiento) serves lunch to all-comers. One day a colossal paella, on another barbecued meats, and yet another, a feast of sardines. Always accompanied by plates of local cheese and jamon serrano, salad and olives. Generous jugs of tinto de verano – red wine with lemonade.
The Semana Cultural is from Friday 9th to Wednesday 14th August and includes movies by moonlight at midnight, water sports, a special dinner al fresco organised by the women’s association, a flamenco evening, a 70s music night and much more.
During the Feria proper, which begins with a bang (literally a big bang!) there is a sit-down lunch in the square every day and all-night music and dancing to live bands every night.
Any three nights in August for the special price of 300 euros. Click here to send a message.
